The 2015 Chianti Classico Belcanto shows a strong mineral vein on the nose with campfire ash and crushed flint. There is much less primary fruit on hand, and this comes as a surprise given the heat of the 2015 vintage and the profile of this same wine just one vintage before this. This expression is more compressed and closed from an aromatic point of view for sure. It ages in French barrel for nine months.
