Medium to dark ruby-colored, the 2003 Aloxe-Corton Les Chaillots (red) explodes from the glass with candied black cherries and violets. Medium-bodied and chewy-textured (I’d never guess this was a Louis Latour red in a blind tasting), this wine is crammed with roasted plums, black cherries, and blackberries. Pure, fruit-forward, and densely-packed, it also reveals a long, expressive, sweet finish. Projected maturity: 2006-2014.
Maison Louis Latour has numerous importers across the United States.
