The Grenache-dominated 2012 C?tes du Rh?ne Villages Plan de Dieu is a classic, Provencal effort that comes from the valley floor located between Vacqueyras and Cairanne. It has plenty of peppery herbs, bloody meat, truffle and dark fruits, as well as a medium-bodied, balanced and nicely put-together feel on the palate. While it has the forward, supple nature of the vintage, it also has solid underlying structure and excellent richness. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years.
