Gamy, herbaceous, black olive scents jump from the glass of the 2005 Syrah -Le Pousseur.- This medium-bodied effort comes across like an undernourished Crozes-Hermitage from the northern Rhone. Displaying tart acids as well as a lack of flesh and fruit, it should be drunk up. Bonny Doon's charismatic proprietor, Randall Grahm, has sold some of his larger production assets in order to refocus on the quality of his wines (which were so promising in the mid-1980s, before he turned his winery into an industrial-sized fruit plant).
