The 2013 Touriga Nacional was aged for 16 months in French barriques (30% new, the rest two- and three-years-old). It comes in at 14% alcohol. In a tricky vintage, this shows well. It might not be the best ever of Vallado's Tourigas, but it is still gorgeously balanced with a fresh and lively feel, plus a flavorful finish. The tannins are moderate, but this still tightens with a bit of aeration, while always remaining graceful. It should have a nice future ahead and make a perfect food wine. There were 4,666 six-packs produced.
