The 2000 Merlot/Syrah (70% of the former and 30% of the latter) spent an amazing six weeks macerating on its skins. The opaque bluish/purple color is accompanied by gorgeous aromas of plum liqueur intermixed with figs, chocolate, smoked meat, and cassis. This powerful and dense infant wine reveals huge stuffing as well as exceptional structure and length. It's an immensely impressive beast!
