The Mazzei brothers consistently produce a clean and generous base Chianti Classico, year in and year out, and this vintage is no exception. The 2014 Chianti Classico Fonterutoli offers dark concentration and balanced aromas of dark fruit, spice, leather and mild chocolate. Fruit for this wine (90% Sangiovese with 10% a combination of Malvasia Nera, Colorino and Merlot) is sourced from the 120 various vineyard parcels that represent this celebrated estate in the Castellina in Chianti subzone.
