The 2004 Gruner Veltliner Smaragd Loibenberg gives off aromas of sweet pea, white peach, iris, pungent suggestions of mint and sage, and white pepper. This wine is impressively rich and oily, full-bodied, and yet juicy and with an animated interplay of fruit and austere, stony minerality in the finish.
