The 2000 Chianti Classico Riserva Castello di Monna Lisa (using the name of one the world’s most famous pictures might seem rather pretentious, but the lady painted by Leonardo da Vinci, Ginevra Benci, actually lived on the estate in the late 15th century) is long, deep, and concentrated in character, and offers a complex nose featuring saddle leather, game, and plums, but the flavors are somewhat austere and slightly dry on the finish. Drink: 2005-2010.
