The 2001 Tinto (Quinta do Alem Tanha) is a blend, including Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca, Tinto Amarela, Tinta Carvalha, Rufete and Grand Noir. It has the best mid-palate of the wines from this Estate that were reviewed, and the best structure, although there is some funk on the wine, and a dusty finish. The ultimate result is not terribly impressive. There were approximately 833 cases produced. Drink now-2009. This winery produces wine from Quinta dos Avidagos, from which it takes its name, and Quinta do Alem Tanha. Winemaker Rui Cunha also makes “The Secret Spot” for GR Consultores, separately listed. No known American importer.
