The Aloxe-Corton Les Moutottes offers concentration, plenty of rich, plummy, ripe fruit, a nice touch of toasty oak, and a powerful, long finish. It should make an excellent bottle between 1991-1998.
For those who say all burgundy is expensive, Cornu's prices are hard to beat, particularly in view of the quality of his 1985s, which were bottled unfined and unfiltered at the insistence of his American importer, Neal Rosenthal.
