The outstanding 1990 Gewurztraminer Clos Windsbuhl Vendange Tardive has an impressively young looking, greenish straw color. Its aromas explode from the glass, revealing massive quantities of spices, roasted sweet peppers, and touches of fresh extra virgin olive oil (aromatically, it is actually reminiscent of an excellent calamari salad!). Medium-to-full-bodied and decadently expressive, this layered, velvety-textured wine is densely packed with ripe white fruits, spices, and minerals. It is at its peak of maturity and should be consumed over the next 4-5 years.
