The 2002 Riesling “Contours” is released 5 years after the vintage to demonstrate Riesling’s ability to improve with age. It is a selection of the best parcels from a vineyard planted in 1961. Light gold-colored, the wine has developed significant bottle bouquet. Featuring notes of mineral, spring flowers, honeysuckle, and lemon-lime, this is followed by a wine with impeccable balance, intense flavors, and a lengthy finish. It will drink well for at least another 5-7 years.

Pewsey Vale was the first Australian wine to be sealed with a Stelvin screw cap in 1976. Aside from that factoid, the winery specializes in Riesling from their high elevation estate vineyard in the cool Eden Valley.
