Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. Sporting the deepest color of the Chevalier-Montrachet 2011s, Louis Latour’s "Demoiselles" has a very exotic bouquet with ripe mango and tropical fruit, with peach skin and pithy pear coming through with aeration. The palate is rather worked in the winery with slightly heavy-handed oak, and it is missing tension and grace on the finish. To be frank, this is shown up in a peer group tasting - it should be much much better than this.
