Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Malcolm Shiraz is profoundly scented of dried plums, creme de cassis, blackberry preserves and blueberry compote with suggestions of fruit cake, cloves, anise and prunes. Big, concentrated and very full bodied on the palate, the rich fruit is nicely contrasted by enlivening acid and supported with medium to firm rounded tannins. It finishes long with layers of dried berry flavors and some spiciness coming through. Approachable now, it should drink well to 2022+. Importer: Total Beverage Solutions, Mount Pleasant, SC
