This dark ruby-colored wine exhibits gorgeous aromatics of violets, perfume, blackberries, and earth tones. It is a powerful, extraordinarily ripe and layered wine jam-packed with juicy black cherries, cassis, and plums bordering on over-ripeness. This full-bodied, velvety-textured, and muscular wine has an absolutely awesome finish that lingers seemingly for minutes. Revealing layers of sweet fruit infused with toasty oak, its fruit and power are impressive, but its lack of refinement and soul precluded a score in the "extraordinary" range.
