The superb 2009 Crozes-Hermitage Aleofane offers up complex aromas of Christmas fruitcake, licorice, black currants, roasted herbs and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is opulent, voluptuously textured, full-bodied, rich and silky smooth. It should drink well for a decade or more.
Natacha Chave, no relation to Gerard and Jean-Louis Chave from Mauves, produces high quality wines from both Crozes-Hermitage and St.-Joseph.
