The bright pink 2019 Prieto Picudo Rosado was produced with the traditional "madreo" system, which is similar to carbonic maceration, adding full clusters of grapes to the already-fermenting must to fix color and help retain a faint fizz. The Prieto Picudo grape was linked to this style of wine and process for the whole of the 19th century and until the 1950s. It has a floral and herbal nose and is young and faintly reductive, as many recently bottled whites and rosés can be, barely spritzy. 66,500 bottles produced.
