It reveals outstanding palate presence, with underlying mineral notes that frame the wine’s fruit beautifully. A reference-point value-priced Barbera from Asti, Tasmorcan offers superb value for the money. It might not be the last word in complexity but it provides immense drinking pleasure. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2013.

As if that weren’t enough, Perrone also bottles one the finest modern-styled Barberas from Asti, the Barbera Mongovone.
