Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Echézeaux Les Treux Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru from Tardy has an expressive bouquet with very pretty red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit infused with fine minerals. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp and tensile tannin, well judged acidity and neatly integrated new oak. There is a slight meatiness that surfaces towards the finish of this well-made, rather glossy but characterful Echézeaux. Tasted September 2016.
