The estate’s Sant’Antimo Cum Laude is a blend of 25% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah, all aged in French oak separately prior to being blended into the final wine. The 2004 Sant Antimo Cum Laude shows the pedigree of this important Tuscan vintage, most notable in its gorgeous, finessed tannins. The flavor profile tends towards an expression of blackberries, blueberries, mint and sweet toasted oak, but it is really the wine’s textural qualities and length that take it to a high level. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2014.
