The 2011 Dolcetto d’Alba is pure class and elegance. Layers of expressive dark fruit wrap around the palate in this seriously rich, textured Dolcetto. The house style comes through in spades. Pira’s Dolcetto is a flat-out steal for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2014. Once again, I was deeply impressed with the entry-level offerings I tasted from Giampaolo Pira.
