The 2009 Pinot Noir Bohan Dillon is a gorgeous wine. Sweet dark cherries, mint, flowers, spices and licorice are all woven together in a textured fabric of notable class. The Bohan Dillon impresses for its elegance and sheer finesse, both of which are remarkable at this price point. The juicy finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste. The main source of fruit is young vines within the estate’s own vineyards, although Hirsch buys some fruit from the neighboring Hellenthal and MacDougal properties to round out the blend. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. This is a thrilling set of wines from Hirsch that captures the essence of everything that makes the Sonoma Coast so compelling. The wines are made with natural primary and secondary fermentations and are bottled without fining or filtration.Tel. (707) 847-3600
