The 2012 Seven checks in as a blend of 89% Syrah, 10% Grenache and 1% Viognier. Coming from mostly Santa Barbara vineyards (a few from Westside Paso) and spending 20 months in neutral oak, it has beautiful richness, medium to full-bodied palate weight and complex aromas and flavors of cassis, blackberry, chocolate, wild herbs and plenty of spice. This nicely textured, balanced effort will drink well on release, and evolve gracefully for 5-7 years.
This is a beautiful set of new releases from Dragonette, and they excelled with both their Pinot Noirs and Rhone blends.
