The 2001 Montepulciano d’Abruzzo seems to be an indication of good things to come with its bright ruby color, crushed raspberries and mineral nose, and lengthy, fresh palate of good depth and definition. With the arrival of winemaker Paolo Caciorgna in 2001, the Riserva of this vintage promises to be something special.
A substantial producer in the Abruzzo with 75 acres of vineyards, Nicodemi, like others in the region, appears to have changed his philosophy and is working to achieve higher quality.
