One of California’s most unique dessert wines is undeniably the Ca Togni made from Black Muscat. Although all of these cuvees have been excellent, the 2001 Ca Togni is one of the finest I have tasted. With 14.5% alcohol and 23% residual sugar, it boasts an amazing perfume of plums, figs, incense, raisins, and black fruits. Full-bodied, but not cloying because of the terrific acidity that balances out the residual sugar, it should last for a decade or more. It is a brilliant sweet wine to enjoy by itself at the end of a meal. Previously recommended: 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate (95), 2000 Ca Togni (94).Tel. (707) 963-3731; Fax (707) 963-9186
