The 2007 Pinot Noir Block 33 was produced entirely from Dijon Clone 777. Medium ruby-colored, it has a lovely perfume of spice box, cherry, raspberry, and rose petal. On the palate it exhibits an elegant personality, a velvety texture, succulent red fruit flavors, just enough ripe tannin, and a lengthy, pure finish. Its impeccable balance will permit another 3-4 years of cellaring but it can be enjoyed now. Dick Shea has 22 clients for the fruit he grows at his large Yamhill-Carlton estate, most of whom vineyard designate the resulting wine.
