Another wine that has been mixed in quality is Beringer's Pinot Noir. There are now two cuvees, a Stanly Ranch and a North Coast offering. Both the 1995 and 1996 cuvees are major improvements over the 1994. The deep ruby/purple-colored 1996 Pinot Noir Stanly Ranch reveals a blueberry/raspberry-scented nose. The wine is dense and chewy, with excellent purity, and light tannin in the finish. Lower in acidity, with softer tannin than the 1995, the 1996 is significantly more concentrated than the 1994. Tel.
