Poggio Nardone’s 2011 Rosso di Montalcino comes across as a bit rustic and lacking polish. High-toned floral notes meld into red fruit as the wine opens up, but the tannins and overall structure are a bit harsh, especially within the context of a vintage that yielded so many supple, radiant Rossos.
