The 2006 Pinot Noir Nysa Vineyard emerges from a cooler Dundee site. The nose reveals a hint of herbaceousness and is a bit firm upon entry. On the palate it exhibits a silky texture, light tannin, attractive red fruit flavors, and medium length. It should evolve for several years and be at its best from 2010 to 2017. The Bergstrom Winery, under the direction of Josh Bergstrom, has quickly risen to the upper echelon of United States producers of Pinot Noir. Not to be forgotten is the fact that the winery also turns out superb Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. In fact, the 2006 -Sigrid- Reserve Chardonnay (94 points) ranks with the best I have ever tasted from Oregon and is reminiscent of a Domaine Leflaive Premier Cru.www.bergstromwinery.com
