There is one Rhone-based wine in the collection, the 2006 Syrah Ciel du Cheval Vineyard. (100% varietal) aged in 40% new French and Hungarian oak. The nose exhibits smoked meat, bacon, and blueberry leading to a full-bodied, dense, chewy wine with plenty of succulent fruit, some structure, and a friendly personality. This is 100% Ciel du Cheval Syrah, and it is exotic, wild, brambly and seductively spicy, an interesting mix of coffee liqueur and wild berry fruits.
