The 2002 Journey is a major improvement over the mediocrities produced in the past. A Merlot-dominated (82.3%) offering with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, it exhibits a deep ruby/purple color along with medium to full body, and aromas of espresso roast intermixed with mocha, chocolate, black cherries, and currants. It should drink well young yet last for 7-8 years. While it is moving in the right direction, it has a long way to go if it going to be priced at $150 a bottle.
