Theo Minges produced structured, high acid, generally excellent wines in 1994. I felt the 1994 Flemlinger Vogelsprung Scheurebe Spatlese was slightly better than the Gleisweiler Holle Riesling. It is a user-friendly, polished, graceful, soft wine with good fatness and a plump, exotic, richly fruity style. The wine exhibits the tell-tale flowery, curranty perfume of the Scheurebe grape. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Importer: a Terry Theise Selection, Milton S. Kronheim & Co., Jessup, MD; tel. (410) 724-3369
