From a good but unexciting vintage, the 2000 Shiraz is a strong effort. Produced from 100% Shiraz, and aged in both American and French oak for 16-18 months, it exhibits aromas of loamy soil, blackberries, currants, pepper, and spice box. Full-bodied and ripe, it behaves more like a Cabernet Sauvignon than a Shiraz. It will drink well for 5-6 years. Importer: Dan Philips, The Grateful Palate, Oxnard, CA; tel. (888) 472-5283
