The 2012 Macon Uchizy les Maranches has a crisp bouquet, a little more backward than the Lamartine and needing more coaxing from the glass, a bashful fella. The palate is well-balanced and has more tension and bite than the Lamartine with a vibrant green-apple and fresh lemon-zest finish that is direct, if not the most persistent you will find. Dominique said that the acidity levels were the same for both Macons, although my perception was that it feels higher here.
