Regrettably, I was not permitted to taste this domaine's Aloxe-Cortons, Beaunes, Corton Le Corton or Corton Bressandes in January because they were being filtered at bottling. However I was given the opportunity to taste two delicious reds as well as the wonderful Corton Charlemagne. The light-to-medium ruby-colored Chorey-Les-Beaune displays delightful aromas reminiscent of wild cherries and a forest's underbrush. An attractive, straightforward, light-to-medium-bodied wine, it has a soft texture and a well-balanced character with crisp strawberry and cherry flavors. Drink it between now and 2000.
As always, ratings with a score in parentheses indicate the wine was tasted from cask, not bottle.
