The 2006 Sancerre Les Grands Goux displays lime and grapefruit zest on the nose and corresponding citrus on the palate, accompanied by subtle and attractive hints of mint, scallops and honey. The wine finishes with excellent focus for the vintage and an invigorating combination of zesty citrus and palpable mineral suggestions. The couple of more recent Fouassier cuvees I have had a chance to taste confirm (albeit in more challenging vintages) the quality consciousness evident in their 2005s (reviewed in issue 172).Importer: Bayfield Importing, Long Island, NY; tel.
