Checking in on some older vintages from Goodfellow, the garnet-colored 2005 Pinot Noir Whistling Ridge Vineyard is scented of dried red and black cherries and currants, aniseed, mushroom and decaying leaves with hints of celery seed, saline, dried earth and pipe tobacco. It’s medium-bodied and holding very well, retaining fruits to support its tertiary notes, finishing long and savory.
