Meaning “honey pot,” Mezes Maly is an esteemed south-facing, first-growth vineyard. This wine has an oxidized character resulting in nutty aromas and cheese-rind flavors. Still, this wine also showed flavors of dried apricot and raisin, although none of the namesake honey. Finishes long, but the oxidative note was still a strike against this wine.
