The 1997 Charmes-Chambertin is medium to dark ruby-colored. Raspberry jam, violets, roses, and spices can be found in its luxuriant nose. Its boisterous personality is broad, complex, concentrated, and lusciously sweet, crammed with hyper-ripe red fruits, and hints of stones, this prodigiously long, well-wrought, and harmonious offering will be at its best if consumed over the next 8 years.
