The 2013 Primitivo di Manduria Talò is a real value wine and an easy no-brainer if you are looking for a rich, fruit-driven red wine for informal occasions like outdoor barbecues and family meals. The wine is soft and yielding and has obviously benefitted from oak aging that has imparted modern spice and sweet smoke. The fruit is syrupy and black, with cherry liqueur and crème de cassis delivered in droves. Some 250,000 bottles were produced.
