Brundlmayer's 1994 Gruner Veltliner Kabinett exhibits a moderately intense bouquet of spring flowers. The wine is precise, long, and intense, with good underlying acidity, as well as an inner-core of extract, fine length, and elegance. This is an outstanding, dry, modestly-priced Gruner Veltliner. One of Austria's most renowned producers, Brundlmayer's 1994s offer intense levels of fruit in a dry, medium-bodied, highly extracted, gorgeously well-delineated style. The only sweet wine is the 1994 Riesling Auslese Zobinger Heiligenstein. The beautiful purity and precision of the Brundlmayer wines make them among my favorite Austrian offerings.
