Knyphausen's Rheingau estate has turned out some attractive wines in the ripe, fruity, soft yet delicious 1992 vintage. Softer, more flattering than the Kiedricher Riesling Trocken, the 1992 Hattenheimer Wisselbrunner Riesling Spatlese Trocken exhibits some botrytis, as well as fat, ripe, medium-bodied flavors displaying considerable alcohol (14.5%!). This decadent, dry Riesling is made in a bold, user-friendly style. It is an impressive wine for drinking over the next 4-5 years. Importer: Valckenberg International, Tulsa, OK.
