The 2008 Bere, a blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, is classy and elegant from start to finish. Perfumed red berries flow through to a long, clean finish. In 2008 there is a little less density than is normally the case, but this is just about as good a wine as was made in Tuscany in this price range. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2012. The 2006 Bere is a blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. This is a pleasing, soft-textured wine with an attractive juiciness to its vibrant fruit and terrific balance, particularly at this level. It is an ideal wine for casual drinking.
