The 2006 Sauvignon Blanc Barrel Fermented is light gold-colored with a touch of nicely integrated toasty aromas, spring flowers, fresh herbs, and citrus. Rounder and creamier than its unoaked sibling, this nicely layered Sauvignon might well evolve for 2-3 years but there is no need to defer gratification. Leyda appears to be Chile’s premier cool-climate grape growing region if these Garces Silva wines under the Amayna label are any indication.Importer: T. Edwards Wines, New York, NY; tel.
