Vigne Sarrau makes one of the best Vermentino-based wines I tasted in the difficult 2014 vintage. The 2014 Vermentino di Gallura Superiore Sciala represents a selection of the estate's best fruit and shows loads of inner intensity and juiciness. It opens to layers of citrus, peach, pear, wild sage and Mediterranean brush. The acidity is bright and spicy on the finish.
