As the back label in Italian reads, this is a winery with an impressive 600 years of history. The Vignamaggio property was founded with one name or another in 1404 with hillside vineyards in Greve in Chianti. Their 2016 Cabernet Franc di Vignamaggio is a beautiful wine that proves to be a lot of fun to drink. It opens to a deep and dark color with red blackberry and blackcurrant aromas that segue to spice and toast. This is a highly approachable and enjoyable Cabernet Franc from Tuscany.

The Vignamaggio 2015 Cabernet Franc di Vignamaggio is a dark and nicely concentrated red wine that shows brambly notes of forest fruit and tart plum with spice, green wood, pressed rose and potting soil.
