The 2007 MISTY HILLS is a blend of 30% Syrah and 70% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine adds some of the things I wanted from the Shoresh—a bit more depth and more focus. It seems a little crisp on opening. It is also quite powerful, perhaps to a fault, and rather focused. It will be interesting to see how this continues to develop. After keeping it open for several hours, I still found it rather charmless at times. Unlike the Shoresh, though, it has some upside potential if it can manage to come together, and I’ve leaned up a little on that basis. It has something to prove and will need a couple of years more in the cellar for best results. There were 3,000 bottles produced. Drink 2011-2020.
