The 2012 Single Vineyard HVD Hunter Chardonnay exudes lovely notes of grapefruit, white blossoms and apricot with nuances of struck match and meal. Light-bodied and tightly knit on the palate, it has a nice suggestion of silkiness offset by racy acid then finishes with plenty of citrus zest layers. Approachable now, it should drink to 2017+. The 2011 Single Vineyard HVD Chardonnay gives a good intensity of grapefruit, lemon peel and orange blossom aromas with underlying pear and honeysuckle nuances. Light to medium-bodied, crisp and clean in the mouth, it has a nice suggestion of creaminess to the texture and a long, apple and spice finish. Drink this one now to 2016.
