The 2014 Chardonnay comes from the Alloro and Olson Vineyard, fermented in mostly neutral oak, remaining on the lees for 14 months. It has a generous bouquet with attractive honeysuckle, pineapple, guava and lychee scents that are nicely defined. The palate is well balanced with a crisp edginess on the entry that was unexpected after the nose. There is a fine bead of acidity here, a little grassiness underlying the patina of tropical fruit and it segues nicely into a pleasant leesy finish. Enjoy this over 4-6 years.
